Caribou Baseball Wins, Presque Isle Track Sweeps

Thursday’s County sports schedule was a lighter one, but it still brought a late baseball finish, boys lacrosse action, and a strong day for Presque Isle track and field in Ellsworth.

Caribou baseball pulled away late to beat Presque Isle, Houlton boys lacrosse hosted Bangor, and the Presque Isle boys and girls track teams both finished first at the Ellsworth meet.

Baseball

Caribou 11, Presque Isle 7

Caribou picked up an 11-7 win over Presque Isle on Thursday, using a four-run seventh inning to break open a game that had been tied at 7-7.

Camden Codrey led the Vikings with three hits and 4 RBIs, while Chandler St. Peter also had three hits and drove in three. Hayden Holabird and Nic Plourde each added multiple hits for Caribou.

Plourde earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs, one earned, over 4 and 2/3 innings while striking out five.

Presque Isle had nine hits in the loss. Carter Vigue went 3-for-4, while Kason Bua, Oliver Woollard, and Brandon Porter each drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Lacrosse

Bangor 16, Houlton 1

The Houlton boys lacrosse team fell to Bangor, 16-1.

Carter Carmichael scored Houlton’s goal, while Carter Smith made 14 saves in net for the Shires.

Track And Field

Presque Isle had a big day at the track meet in Ellsworth, with both the girls and boys teams finishing first in the team standings. The Wildcat girls finished with 152.6 points, while the boys won with 167 points.
