Spring sports are finally here in Maine! High school fields and courts were buzzing with excitement as teams kicked off the season with some thrilling matchups.
The Aroostook League Scholars Banquet honored top student-athletes in Caribou, with Julia Clukey sharing her story and ten $500 scholarships awarded to County seniors.

A packed gym in Caribou watched County seniors shine in the Bob White Aroostook League All-Star Games. Ava Lerman scored 29, Maggie Mahan had 26, and Landon Belanger dropped 30 in a fun season sendoff.
Two straight tournament weeks delivered packed gyms and huge moments from Bangor to Augusta. Congrats to every athlete who competed, to Fort Kent boys for winning states, and to Wisdom girls and Easton boys for regional titles.
Fort Kent won its first boys basketball state championship, beating Maranacook 70-63. The Warriors opened on a 20-2 run, led 23-7 after one, and closed it out late behind Aden Jeffers’ 30 points and Finn Kelly’s clutch finish.
The 2026 101.9 The Rock Girls All-Tournament Team is announced. First Team: Ava Lerman, Quinn Corrigan, Madi Cyr, Polly Cullen, Lilly Burtt. Second Team: Ayanna Lester, Harleigh Allen, Peyton Roy, Lilly Bell, Marion Young. Congrats to all.

The Aroostook League All-Star Basketball Games are Thursday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Caribou High School. Check the girls and boys senior all-star rosters and get ready for a great night of County hoops.
