The Boston Red Sox have now won 5 games in a row for just the 2nd time this season and are now 5 games over .500 (39-34) for the 1st time all year, after beating the Baltimore Orioles 8-6 in 10 innings on Sunday, June 16th.

The Red Sox were up 2-1 going into the bottom of the 8th, but Baltimore scored 2 runs to take the lead. Marco Hernandez hit a solo homer in the top of the 9th to tie the score. In the top of the 10th the Red Sox scored 5 runs as Rafael Devers homered. They'd need every run as the O's scored 3 in the bottom of the 10th before the Red Sox came away with the win.

Brian Johnson started and went 3 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits striking out 2 and walking 2. Brandon Workman picked up the win pitching the 9th, he's now 5-1. Josh Smith allowed 3 runs in the 10th, on 2 homers.

Mookie Betts was 3-5 with a triple. Christian Vazquez, Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, and Michael Chavis all had 2 hits, as the Red Sox banged out a total of 14 hits.

The Yankees and Rays both won, so the Red Sox remain 5.5 games back from the Yankees. The Red Sox will open a 3 game series against the Minnesota Twins in Minnesota on Monday.
