The 2026 Aroostook League All-Star Teams are out, celebrating County standouts in basketball, Nordic, and Alpine events. Congrats to all athletes, coaches, and schools on a great season.
Fort Kent beat Caribou 48-47 to win the Class C North title on Aden Jeffers’ buzzer-beater. Jeffers scored 24 as the Warriors reached their first state championship game. Caribou finished 17-4, led by Owen Corrigan’s 20.
Machias beat Madawaska 61-57 to win the Northern Maine Class D boys title. The Bulldogs led 28-24 at half and 45-36 after three, then held off a late Owls rally. Mickey Fitzsimmons scored 20 and Quinn Pelletier had 25.
Easton beat Jonesport 58-42 to win the Class S North title and reach the state championship for the first time since 2016. The Bears forced 31 turnovers and outscored the Royals 37-16 in the second half, opening the fourth on a 14-0 run.
Wisdom beat Katahdin 41-26 to win the Class S girls regional title. The Lady Pioneers led 13-11 at halftime, Ava Lerman scored 21 as Wisdom advances to its first state final since 1998.
Northern Maine Championship Saturday is loaded with County teams in Bangor. Wisdom-Katahdin (10am), Easton-Jonesport (11:30), Madawaska-Machias (3:30), and Caribou-Fort Kent (8:30). Recaps and highlights all day.
Mattanawcook beat Caribou 59-43 in Bangor, hitting 11 threes to stay undefeated and reach the North Class C girls title game. Quinn Corrigan scored 13 for Caribou, with Carly Levesque adding 12 on four threes.
Caribou beat Washington Academy 70-55 to reach the Class C championship, setting up an all-County title game vs Fort Kent. Owen Corrigan scored 30 with 8 assists, and Colby Ouellette added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Fort Kent beat Mattanawcook 70-61 in the Class C semifinal, using an 8-0 start to the third quarter to take control. Aden Jeffers had 23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and Mason Pelletier added 20 with five threes.
Machias beat Hodgdon 56-51 in the Class D boys semifinal to reach Championship Saturday. Hodgdon cut it to five late, but the Bulldogs held on behind Mickey Fitzsimmons’ 18 points. Machias will face Madawaska
