RCMP and MADD Partner in Project Red Ribbon
The RCMP New Brunswick is assisting Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Fredericton as they launch this year's annual Project Red Ribbon campaign, to recognize and underscore the dangers of impaired driving.
These crosses represent the average number of lives lost every month in Canada from impaired driving. A pair of crutches, which will also be part of the memorial, represents the thousands more people who are injured each month due to impaired driving crashes.
The crosses will remain on display for a week as a visual reminder to drivers of the tragic and preventable consequences of impaired driving.
Representatives from MADD, the RCMP and other invited guests will speak at a news conference at New Brunswick RCMP Headquarters in Fredericton, November 1.
