MISSION IMPROVable Coming to UMPI
Experience a whole new level of improv when the agents of MISSION IMPROVable Comedy Team head to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a performance on Wednesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center.
This free event, sponsored by UMPI’s Student Activities Office, is rated PG-13 and the public is invited to attend.
With audience suggestions and a whole lot of imagination and laughter, MISSION IMPROVable creates a brand new and original production every time they perform. The comedy team was named Campus Activities Magazine’s 2014 Comedy Act of the Year.
The group describes their fast-paced and exciting new form of comedy as a combination of MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out” and the game show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” The twist? According to the group’s website, just like in the old TV series “Mission Impossible,” the Chicagoan actors in Mission IMPROVable pretend to be agents. The audience members are the co-agents and participate in the hilarious theater games or “missions” by yelling out suggestions. The on-the-spot randomness provided by the audience makes each mission truly unique and very often hysterical.
Mission IMPROVable is a regular at festivals and colleges across the country. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to leave with a smile on your face and your stomach aching from laughter.
