The White Mountains of New Hampshire are overflowing with gorgeous vistas, breathtaking hikes, and rushing waterfalls cascading over centuries-old stone. It's hard to pick the most impressive and beautiful waterfall in New Hampshire, but Glen Ellis Falls in Jackson surely belongs near the top of the list.

Glen Ellis Falls can be found at the base of Wildcat Mountain and is the most popular waterfall of Pinkham Notch, according to New England Waterfalls. Although swimming is prohibited here, you'll have plenty of fun with the white mist rising around the falls and snapping photos on the surrounding rocks.

The short hike to Glen Ellis Falls is peaceful and very enjoyable. Take the time to actually read the posted plaques describing how the geological explanation of the falls and surrounding area.

 

We saw Glen Ellis Falls on an absolutely beautiful October day... deep blue skies, sunshine, magnificent fall colors. The walk is an easy one, down a path that is rocky but has many steps and handrails that make it relatively easy for anyone to hike. There are a couple of viewing platforms along the way where one can take additional photos. The Falls had plenty of water despite an ongoing drought in the northeastern US. If you happen to be in the area, it is well worth your time & effort to visit.
