Ronald McDonald House of Charities of Maine (RMHC) recently received $600 from funds raised by employees of a local community bank.

Katahdin Trust employees can dress casually on the second Friday of each month in support of various non-profit organizations throughout Maine. Each employee that participates in Casual Because We Care Days donates a minimum of $1 in exchange for the privilege to dress casually and wear jeans. Proceeds are sent quarterly to a pre-selected non-profit organization.

Krista Putnam, Senior Vice President, Marketing explains, “Once a month Katahdin Trust employees from our northern Maine, Greater Bangor and Portland offices can participate in our Casual Because We Care program. Our employees were very pleased to donate to RMHC. They appreciate being able to  support all that RMHC does to help families stay close to their children who are receiving life-saving treatments at nearby hospitals.”

“We are so grateful to Katahdin Trust Company and their employees for hosting this fundraiser over the last few months in support of RMHC Maine and the children and families we serve,” said Alicia Milne, RMHC Development Director. “The services we provide at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Portland and Bangor would not be possible without the support of our community who host fundraisers throughout the year, like this one. Thank you to all the bank employees who participated in Casual Because We Care!”
