The West District RCMP is asking for the public's help following an alleged hit and run that damaged two vehicles last week in Saint-André.

Members of the Saint-Léonard Detachment responded to a two-vehicle collision on Chemin St. Amand at around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, according to Cpl. Tony Dunphy.

Police say the vehicles scraped against each other in "low-visibility conditions." The driver of one vehicle, a white van, stopped and notified police. The other, a small beige vehicle, did not stop at the scene and the driver did not report the crash, Dunphy said.

Police say the suspect vehicle could be damaged on the driver's side and could possibly have white paint marks near the damaged area.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to call the West District RCMP at 506-473-3137. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact New Brunswick Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
