Keep your eyes on the river, cruise ships are rolling into Bangor all summer long.

The City of Bangor is excited to welcome American Cruise Lines back to the Bangor Waterfront for another season of scenic riverfront arrivals.

And this isn’t just a one-time visit, cruise ships are scheduled to stop in Bangor 12 times in July, 12 times in August, and 6 more times in September.

The company’s Maine Coast & Harbors Cruise offers passengers a front-row view of coastal Maine, traveling from Portland Harbor to Bangor with stops along the way in places like Bath, Boothbay Harbor, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Bar Harbor, Castine, Bucksport, and more.

Guests experience everything that makes Maine special, Casco Bay, historic lighthouses, charming seaside towns, Acadia National Park, working waterfronts, local food traditions like lobster bakes, and the stories that shaped Maine’s maritime history.

The journey ends right here in Bangor, where passengers can step off the ship and explore downtown shops, restaurants, and even take a trip to a famous West Broadway landmark: Stephen King’s house.

This summer’s scheduled ships include the American Independence, American Maverick, American Legend, and American Mariner, smaller, U.S.-flagged vessels designed for coastal cruising. Unlike massive ocean liners, these ships offer a slower, more personal way to experience the scenery, with open decks, comfortable spaces, and a closer look at the communities along Maine’s coast.

So if you’re near the Bangor Waterfront this summer, keep watching the river, you might just catch a cruise ship pulling in!
