Not Your Grandma’s Flea Market Returns to Bangor This Saturday

A fun, offbeat flea market for the unique and alternative is happening this weekend!

During the summer, people want to get outdoors, especially when there’s shopping, treasure hunting, and bargains involved. That means yard sales, garage sales, farmers markets, and flea markets are in full swing.

Keep it local this Saturday, August 1st, and shop right here in Bangor.

The folks at Cool Girl Collective are bringing back another Not Your Grandma's Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old Shriner building, located at 586 Main St. in Bangor.

The event will feature 40 carefully curated vendors offering a creative, interactive experience, not just a place to buy products. Visitors can thrift a vintage piece and have it embroidered, build a custom hat, sit for a 10-minute portrait, watch artists paint live, receive bespoke poetry typed just for them, get permanent jewelry, enjoy tarot or medium readings, add tooth gems, learn macramé, pot their own plant, and so much more.

Artists, makers, and vintage curators from across Maine and New Hampshire will be joining the market, giving attendees the chance to discover small businesses and creators they may not typically see at local events.

Admission is completely free.
