2015 New Sweden Midsommar Festival Kicks Off

Get ready to celebrate! It time once again for the Midsommar Festival that happens each year in New Sweden celebrating the Swedish presence in Maine.

It is great fun for the family including dancing, singing, dinners, and numerous other activities.

Events begin on Friday, June 19th with the flower gathering for the following day’s Maypole. A genealogist is available this day as well.

Saturday, June 20th, includes multiple events occurring at the New Sweden Historical Museum as well as various dinners and dancing at Thomas Park with live music.

Sunday will host other activities including a morning church service at Thomas Park. Following that the Maypole will be brought from the Museum up to Thomas Park for the final days activities, again including New Sweden’s Little Folk Dancer’s and various forms of entertainment.
