On a night when Chris Sale wasn't at his best, the Boston Red Sox bats came alive late and Christian Vazquez hit a 2-run walk-off homer to give Boston a 7-5 over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, June 21st at Fenway Park. The win improved the Red Sox to a season high 7 games above .500. The Red Sox after starting the season 11-17 are 31-18 since then!

Sale went 3 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 8 and walked 2. Colten  Brewer, Josh Taylor, Ryan Brasier, Matt Barnes and Brandon Workman combined for 7 strikeouts in relief, holding the Blue Jays to just 4 hits and 1 run. Workman picked up the win, and is now 6-1 on the season.

The Red Sox trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the 7th inning scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th and tied the scored in the bottom of the 8th. The score remained tied until Vazquez's 2nd career walk-off homer. It was Boston's 4th walk-off win of 2019.

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a triple in the 8th inning and Mookie Betts hit a triple in the 7th inning. The BoSox have tripled twice this season (last on June 12th vs. Texas) and have 7 triples in their last 10 games.

JD Martinez was 3-5 and drove in a run. Brock Holt was 1-4 with a RBI. Rafael Devers was 1-1 with a RBI. He pinch hit in the 8th and is 17-43 (.395) with 8 RBIs in his last 10 games. Michael Chavis was 2-5 and has a 10 game hitting streak. It's the longest hitting streak since Andrew Benintendi's 11 game streak as a rookie in 2017.
