The Best Home-Style Breakfast in Maine Can Be Found at This Cozy Little Spot
We're fortunate here in Maine to have hundreds of locally-owned restaurants to choose from when we want a good bite to eat. Whether you're looking for brunch, dinner, a midnight snack, breakfast or anything in-between, you're sure to find whatever it is you're looking for at a Maine-owned eatery.

Some of those places are huge and in bigger cities like Portland, Bangor, Augusta or Auburn, while others are much smaller and are in some of Maine's smallest towns. Take for example Greg's Place just off coastal route 3 in South China, Maine.
For decades Greg's Place has been the place where the locals (and folks from away during tourist season) go for a delicious, affordable and filling breakfast. And, not only is the breakfast top-notch, it's also cooked fresh for every single order.

However, don't expect to read their daily specials on their website. Greg's Place restaurant is a not-so-well-kept secret. This means you won't find some flashy website or an Instagram page where they post daily photos of syrup-covered pancakes.
Nope, none of that. Greg's Place is about as 'off the grid' as a restaurant can get while still having electricity- and that's the way they like it. Oh, and if you're planning to stop in for a bite, make sure you bring some cash with you because they definitely won't take your card.

As a born-and-raised Mainer and a kid who moved to South China when he was 13 years old, I've had many-a-breakfasts at Greg's and now we bring our kids their, too. From delicious, fluffy pancakes to bacon cooked exactly how you like it to the best home fries I've ever had, Greg's Place is like eating at your grandma's house.
If you haven't had the chance to try it, or you've ever driven by and seen that the parking lot is absolutely filled to the brim with pickup trucks but you haven't stopped in, this is your sign to do just that. I promise, you will not regret stopping in and having breakfast at Greg's Place.
But remember, don't forget the cash!
