Northern Maine Community College’s Automotive Technology Program was on the receiving end of a new teaching vehicle.

The vehicle, a diesel TDI Volkswagen Jetta from Darling’s Auto Group of Bangor, was presented during the company’s TDI Taco Tuesday event, which aims to raise awareness about the diesel model.

This vehicle, according to NMCC Automotive Instructor Robert Kaiser, will give the students the opportunity to experience the diesel side of automotives, not just the gasoline side.

Bob Campbell, service director at Darling’s Ford VW Audi, noted that a lot of technicians are going to be retiring and the workforce is aging, so he feels that it's  important to work with the colleges that train potential new employees.
