Boston Nipped By Blue Jays 4-3

The Boston Red Sox fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Tuesday, September 10th in the 1st game of a 3 game series in Toronto.

The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead as Mookie Betts hit a lead-off homer. It was his 28th homer of the season.

Rafael Devers was 2-3, with a double, his 50th of the season.  He's now hitting .314 on the season.

JD Martinez had a double, driving in a run. It was his 32nd of the season.

Nathan Eovaldi went 4.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 2. Josh Taylor took the loss. Toronto hit 3 homers off of Eovaldi and Taylor.

The Red Sox tragic number to being eliminated from the Wild Card playoff spot is 9.

The Red Sox and Blue Jays will play the middle game of the 3 game series Wednesday night. Bobby Poyner will start the game for Boston in a "bullpen" game.
