The Boston Red Sox fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Tuesday, September 10th in the 1st game of a 3 game series in Toronto.

The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead as Mookie Betts hit a lead-off homer. It was his 28th homer of the season.

Rafael Devers was 2-3, with a double, his 50th of the season.  He's now hitting .314 on the season.

JD Martinez had a double, driving in a run. It was his 32nd of the season.

Nathan Eovaldi went 4.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 2. Josh Taylor took the loss. Toronto hit 3 homers off of Eovaldi and Taylor.

The Red Sox tragic number to being eliminated from the Wild Card playoff spot is 9.
