The 'Sucrerie' features a traditional maple taffy pull on snow, an Acadian meal, and live entertainment. ARAmark dining services, pulled together the menu for the event. While Janice Bouchard, of Bouchard Family Farms, was on hand making ployes. Music performed by Warren and Joan Harvey filled the cafeteria during lunch.

I spoke with Wilson Hess, UMFK President, about today's event.

'Maine Maple Sunday' happens this weekend (March 23). The Maine Maple Producers Association welcomes the public to join Maine's Maple Syrup Producers, statewide, as they celebrate Maine Maple Sunday.  Most sugarhouses offer free maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, and sugarbush tours.

Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. Visit mainemapleproducers.com for more information.
