Anna Kendrick is set to direct Netflix’s adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo,” following her directorial debut with “Woman of the Hour.”
The film follows a young journalist who interviews aging Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo, whose stories about her seven marriages reveal scandals, betrayals, and long-held secrets from her life and career.

Taylor Jenkins Reid will executive produce the adaptation, bringing a large built-in readership to the project after selling more than 24 million books worldwide in 43 languages.
Reid has also gained major attention through book clubs, bestseller lists, and social media, with her work previously adapted for Prime Video’s ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ and her 2025 novel ‘Atmosphere’ earning several major honors.
