Kris Doody, CEO of Cary Medical Center, is excited about the opportunities that their partnership will provide to students who are pursuing medical careers in the County.  “At Cary Medical Center we understand that the children are our future.  This is particularly true in health care with the need for nurses, doctors and other health care specialists in great demand,” Doody said.  “We welcome the opportunity to support Aroostook Aspirations, a program that helps educate our young people right here in the County and provides internships to acquaint students with health care opportunities.”

Sustaining Strategic Partners commit to the sustainability of Aroostook Aspirations Initiative with a financial contribution over a five year period.  All partners came on as supporters of Aroostook Aspirations Initiative in 2015 and are currently in their second year of support.

The contributions of each partner make it possible for the nonprofit organization to continue awarding scholarships to local high school students planning to attend college in the County.  Contributions also go toward Aroostook Aspirations Initiative programing, such as the annual Scholar trainings, internships, community service activities, leadership and entrepreneurial trainings, and mentoring.  Sustaining Strategic Partners also support the development of sustainable fundraising activities.

For more information on scholarships, internships and other opportunities available through Aroostook Aspirations Initiative programming, contact Executive Director Kristen Wells at (207) 760-0558 or at Kristen@gauvinfund.org, or go to www.gauvinfund.org.
