After 22 seasons, veteran quarterback and former New England Patriot Tom Brady officially announced his retirement from the game of football on February 1, 2022. He was a 7-time Super Bowl champion.
The great Fitzy wandered into the Gilette Stadium parking lot this past week to ask tailgating Pats fans on what message they had for Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski as they return to New England this Sunday night. The dynamic duo led the Patriots to glory, so the emotions are running high as our guys, now our enemy, come back to the place where it all happened.
It's a spending spree like the Patriots have never seen! Some big moves today by Coach Belichick. This is the most money the Pats have ever spent in free agency. Things are certainly getting interesting in Foxborough, and it's only Day One of free agency.
This is not good. Patriot players are due this week in Foxborough to get their COVID-19 tests and start practicing. But already, it sounds like SIX Patriots have said, "no, thank you,' and are opting out of playing for the season. Presumably because of the threat of getting the disease. Two of these Pats players are big-time stars and starters. Yup, Patrick Chung, and Dont'a Hightower are out.
The New England Patriots planted 2500 flags outside of Gillette Stadium this weekend to honor people from the Foxborough area that have lost their lives in military service. The project was done with the help of many volunteers and the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund. The Fund usually plants over 35,000 flags each Memorial Day Weekend on the Boston Common, but because of the COVID-19 restrictions, they were not able to this year.
The Patriots have released an awesome new video congratulating the Class of 2020. It's not a usual year for these high school and college graduates so it's nice that they are getting the extra attention and words of advice and praise from our Patriot heroes. The video stars Robert Kraft (who can't even fit all the Pats Super Bowl trophies in his shot), Devin McCourty, Julian Edelman, James White, and others. My favorite part of the video is with Edleman at the end who mouths Tom Brady's signature "Let's Go!!!!" Priceless.
The Patriots Defense did it again as the Pats beat the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon at Gillette Stadium. Your final was 13-9 Patriots who improve to 10-1. This is the 17th season the Pats have won 10 or more games. That's an NFL record.
