Maine High School Basketball Tournament

The Maine Principals Association not only handed out gold balls this past weekend to high school basketball teams, but also sportsmanship awards to a team from each gender and class for the past season

The Augusta Civic Center was the site for the Class D State Championship game for 2022 featuring the northern region champion Southern Aroostook Warriors and southern region champion Forest Hills Tigers.

The Class D state championship for the the girls side in Maine was played between Southern Aroostook and Seacoast Christian

The Class C boys’ semifinal round kicked off with a highly anticipated matchup between #1 Fort Kent Warriors and #4 Dexter Tigers.

The Class C girls' semifinal round finally took place on Saturday evening, after the weather postponed the games from Friday. In the second game of the session the #1 Stearns Minutemen were taking on the #5 Hodgdon Hawks.

The Class D Northern Maine championship game on the boys side featured the #1 Machias Bulldogs and #2 Southern Aroostook Warriors.

The Class D Girls Northern Maine Championship started an 8-game day on Super Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

The second game of the evening session on Thursday featured the #1 Machias Bulldogs and #4 Wisdom Pioneers

The Class D North boys semifinal round was played on Thursday evening with the first game of the session featuring the #2 Southern Aroostook Warriors taking on the #6 Schenck Wolverines.
