So I’ve been struggling lately. Maybe you’ve heard it on my afternoon show. I was hoping to keep it under wraps but sometimes it shows through. I get irritable very easily lately. I’m only a week into kicking this habit and I’m hoping the hard part is over.

Yes, I’m quitting soda. I’ve been a soda drinker most of my life and I’ve quit a few times but I’ve always fallen back into the habit. Not only are there health benefits to quitting soda, but financial benefits as well. Do you know how much a 20 oz bottle costs these days? It could be all the water I've been drinking but I'm also able to mentally focus more lately.

It’s all part of my plan for a healthier ‘me’ in 2013. Because I work a lot and go to school and have four kids – I haven’t been to the gym yet this year. Excuses, excuses! I will lose 40 pounds. I will lose 40 pounds. Kicking my soda habit is only the beginning.
