Police ID Man Found at Runaround Pond in Durham

State Police say the man found dead at a Durham recreational area Tuesday is 43 year old Alan Kelley of Durham, who most recently had been living at a Lewiston homeless shelter.

According to police, there is no immediate indication of foul play, but the State Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct toxicology tests before concluding the results of the autopsy.

Detectives said a hypodermic needle was found in Kelley’s clothing and theyare still trying to determine how and when Kelley arrived at the Runaround Pond recreational area, since he had no car, said police.

He also was not dressed for sub-freezing temperatures.

Police said, Kelley was estranged from his wife and children, who live about five miles away from where his body was found.
