New England Gas Prices Remaining Stable
Even though we've seen an increase in gas prices here in Aroostook County, gas prices have remained fairly stable around New England.
The average retail price of a gallon of gas here in Maine, according to the survey by GasBuddy.com, rose slightly in the past week to $2.84 a gallon, up from $2.82 last week. In Presque Isle, prices at the pump rose by 4 cents from last Monday to $2.92 a gallon this Monday morning.
The price of gas in New Hampshire remained unchanged from last week's average of $2.80 a gallon and Vermont's pump prices went down a half cent to an average $2.89 a gallon.
Meanwhile, the national average stands at $2.87 a gallon. That's a decrease of 2.4 cents a gallon in the past month but is still 63.3 cents higher than it was a year ago at this time.
