Across northern New England and the nation, gas prices continue to drop.

According to GasBuddy.com, prices at the pump here in Maine dropped a little over a nickel in the past week to an average price of $2.63 a gallon. That price is the same as the national average. In Presque Isle, most stations were reporting a price of $2.78 Monday morning.

New Hampshire's gas price fell about 2 cents from last week, to an average $2.58 a gallon. Vermont's pump prices saw a smaller decrease to an average $2.69 a gallon.

The average price of gas across the U.S. showed a 6 cent a gallon decrease over the last week to $2.63 a gallon. That was 18 cents lower than a year ago.
