Smith has made 10 appearances (two starts) over four major league stints with Boston this season, going 0-2 with one save and a 5.40 ERA (11 ER/18.1 IP). In five outings (four starts) since being optioned to Pawtucket on June 25, the right-hander is 3-0 with a 4.94 ERA (15 ER/27.1 IP).
