Some parts of northern New England are seeing a bit of an increase in gas prices this week.

According to GasBuddy.com, gasoline rose a penny in Maine from last week, averaging $2.53 a gallon. In Presque Isle Monday, the majority of gas stations showed a price of $2.65 a gallon, a jump of 9 cents over last week's prices.

Pump prices in New Hampshire remained unchanged from last week's $2.43 a gallon average. Gas in Vermont rose 1.2 cents a gallon to an average of $2.62 a gallon.

The average price of gasoline across the country fell slightly last week, averaging $2.60. That's down 6.9 cents a gallon from a month ago and 13. 8 cents cheaper than where it stood last year at this time.
