As the temperatures drop, so are the gas prices in New England.

According to the latest survey from GasBuddy.com, prices at the pump in Maine fell slightly, averaging $2.54 a gallon. In Presque Isle, prices at most stations Monday afternoon showed $2.69 as the price per gallon.

In neighboring New Hampshire, the average gas price dropped 1.6 cents from last week to $2.44 a gallon. Vermont's average gas price decreased 1.2 cents from a week ago to $2.59 a gallon.

Average gas prices at the national level fell 3 cents a gallon from last week to an average $2.55 a gallon. That's a drop of 5.5 cents a gallon from a month ago, but is 19.3 cents a gallon higher than it was last year at this time.
