Meet Simon: The Maine Goat Who Sounded Like a Screaming Human

Just think, you are at home and hear a scream and think someone is in serious danger, so you call 911. But find out soon after, the scream you heard did not come from a human, but a goat instead, according to WABI.

This is what happened in a town called Etna, Maine. Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office urgently rushed over after the neighbor said someone clearly was in distress.

When the deputies got there to check it out, the culprit wasn’t a person at all, it was Simon. Simon is a very vocal Nigerian Dwarf goat who has a serious set of lungs.

He also apparently has a ton to say.

The deputies followed the wails and screams to the end of the railroad tracks and that’s where they found Simon.  

Oak Share Farm is where Simon lives with the Hawe’s family who says that he can often be dramatic. He sounds exactly like a human and it’s understandable that she thought it was.  

As per the article, Simon’s owner, Devon Hawes said,  

“I don’t know how to make a goat be quiet. He gets everything he needs. Food, love, all of the things. He’s just got a lot to say!”

Nigerian Dwarf goats are actually known for their personalities and vocal abilities. They are adorably small, friendly, and this little one proves, they can also be comedically loud as hell. He wails and screams and it’s so convincing that people call the police.

This was a hilarious situation that in the end, made everyone laugh.
