I was inspired by a recent article to try to downsize my technologically advanced household. Now, we’re not overboard by any stretch, but my kids love their video games and their new satellite television. Luckily my teenage daughter is the only one with a cell phone – besides her parents.

I mean we got by okay in the past, right? We turned out alright for the most part. The problems that I see arising in my home are with attitudes and a general lack of quality family time. I figure if we, at least in the technology-sense, retreat back to a time before we had our faces buried in our devices, it might serve us well. We may actually be able to hold a one-on-one face to face conversation again. Maybe.

Have you ever tried to forgo modern technology, at least for a while? How did it turn out? Let us know on Facebook.
