So I got a chance to talk to one of the greats today, the voice of Foreigner Lou Gramm.  Lou will be part of Rocktoberfest 2013 at the River Valley Civic Center in Perth Andover, New Brunswick on Saturday, October 5th.  This man is rock and roll royalty as far as I'm concerned and it really took me back to my youth.

What you're about to see is not for the faint of heart.  After watching this, can we please stop talking about Miley Cyrus?

A while back I wrote about my first car, an orange, 1982 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.  We’ve been giving away a lot of concert tickets lately and have been discussing the first concert we ever attended.  It’s probably no surprise that my first concert was at The Forum in Presque Isle, Maine.  The band performing blew my mind and solidified my goal to become a musician; however, I don’t know how much

Maybe it’s just me but this summer seems to have been a wash, literally.  We’ve had a few beautiful days but it’s been wetter than usual.  I’m not complaining because our weather situation could be a lot worse.

I’m not sure why we choose to call it vacation anymore.  My wife and I were locked in a minivan with four kids for hours on end.  I have to say that all of my brood were fairly well-behaved this year, but don’t tell them I said that.

I just bought a new vehicle, which got us talking around the office about our first cars.  I thought it would make a great series of blogs about ‘firsts’ in general.  Today, though, I must tell you about my first set of wheels. It may not mean much to you but it was everything to me at the time.

For today’s ‘hidden gems,’ I wanted to introduce you to a hot, young guitarist; one that I think is going places and will end up being a household name.  The band is called Shark Frenzy, the year is 1978 and it marks the first recordings of a young Richie Sambora.

You have two eyes, two legs, two ears, two – well you get the idea.  Why is that?  I guess I’ve never pondered it before until I was searching for something to write about and realized that on the show today it’s ‘Two for Tuesday.’

Interesting story – when my wife and I were welcoming our second child we struggled to find a name.  This was our first boy and obviously you want to get it right.  We didn’t want a really popular name but we also didn’t want to name him Apple or Blue Pearl because that’s just out there.  So for different reasons we settled on a name.
