Interesting story – when my wife and I were welcoming our second child we struggled to find a name.  This was our first boy and obviously you want to get it right.  We didn’t want a really popular name but we also didn’t want to name him Apple or Blue Pearl because that’s just out there.  So for different reasons we settled on a name.

I am a huge Beatles fan.  I’m also a pretty avid fan of singer/songwriter Jude Cole (Honestly, if you’ve never heard of Jude Cole, look him up – you won’t regret it). So I suggested the name Jude.  My wife liked the name because of the patron Saint of lost causes, St.Jude.  I’ll take it.  So our first boy’s name is Jude.

Fast forward to a year or so later and through happenstance, which will occur again later in this post, I discover that Sir Paul McCartney’s birthday is the same day as my son Jude.  The writer of ‘Hey Jude’ shares a birthday with my boy.  It’s almost like we planned it, but we didn’t.  Hang on, it gets creepier.

Fast forward again to about three or four years ago and I’m goofing off on Facebook.  I’m kind of a music buff and I had actually sent a friend request to Jude Cole and he accepted.  Later in the year on my son’s birthday, I bring up Facebook and it tells you which of your friends are celebrating a birthday.  Jude Cole has the same birthday as my son Jude.

I just want to say that if my son doesn’t go into music I’ll be okay with it.  I’ll be surprised, but okay.  Today is the day. Happy birthday buddy, and happy birthday to my musical heroes as well.  Share your story on Facebook.
