Chris O’Brien’s First Concert: Cornerstone

A while back I wrote about my first car, an orange, 1982 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.  We’ve been giving away a lot of concert tickets lately and have been discussing the first concert we ever attended.  It’s probably no surprise that my first concert was at The Forum in Presque Isle, Maine.  The band performing blew my mind and solidified my goal to become a musician; however, I don’t know how much further they ever went.

I don’t remember the date or how old I was, preteen for sure.  The name of the band was Cornerstone.  I was on one of the side bleachers.  I’m not even sure who was with me, it was that long ago.  I remember they had a fantastic light show and played their own music.  Oh and the lead singer was wearing a sweat band across the middle of his bushy haircut.  It was the 80s after all. 

I decided to Google the band but only came up with a Christian group and one that started in 2000.  Alas, my first group of superheroes may have been a local or regional band.  It’s all good.  Wherever they are I should thank them for turning me on to rock and roll.  It’s treated me well ever since.  By the way, I don't have to tell you that NONE of the pictures featured here are from The Forum, right?
