The Maine Department of Transportation has released deer-car crash information by county. These are ten-year totals so it's a pretty good sample size. And the results are a little surprising. Penobscot County tops the list with over 5000 "large wildlife collisions" between 2008 and 2017. Not too surprising, right? But look at number 2 on the list. Cumberland County took second place with 4939 collisions.
