Two brothers were arrested after crashing into a school bus and fleeing the scene in Limington.

Brothers Taken into Custody

The Maine State Police said 33-year-old Robert Hargis and his brother 30-year-old Patrick Hargis from Hiram were taken into custody Wednesday night around 9 pm.

Brothers Fled after Hitting Bus with 13 Students on Board

The two brothers were wanted after hitting a school bus with 13 children on board and fleeing the scene in Limington on June 14.

Search Warrant Executed

The Maine State Police Southern Field Troop and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 361 Sokokis Avenue where the brothers were staying.

Brothers Hiding Inside a Wall

“After a search of the property, with the help of a K-9, the brothers were located hiding inside a wall in an upstairs bedroom,” said the Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety, Shannon Moss.

Suspect had Nine Active Warrants

Robert Hargis had nine active arrest warrants when he was apprehended.

Driver Faces Multiple Charges

Patrick Hargis had one active warrant and was also on probation. He faces charges for Felony Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, Operating After Suspension, Operating with Suspended Registration, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and three counts of Violating Conditions of Release.
