Maine State Police Colonel Robert Williams traveled to Houlton on Thursday to conduct the promotional ceremony for 14-year veteran Jeffrey Clark.

Clark was promoted to the rank of Detective and will become part of the Major Crimes Unit North in Aroostook County.

Clark joined the State Police in 2000 as a member of the 47th Maine State Police Training Troop.  Upon graduation from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, he was assigned to Troop J where he patrolled Washington and Hancock Counties.  In 2003 Clark transferred to Troop F patrolling the Central and Southern Aroostook Areas.  In 2004 Clark became a K-9 handler and partnered with K-9 ‘Hanno’ as a team certified in patrol and drug work.  K-9 ‘Hanno’ was retired in 2010 and Clark was assigned as an Agent with Maine Drug Enforcement in Aroostook County.  In 2013, Clark returned to Troop F and was named the Troop F Trooper of the Year nominee for 2013.
