Seven Juveniles Charged with Assault after Online Video in Maine

Seven juveniles have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault after a video of the attack in Lewiston was posted on social media.

The Lewiston Police Department said five juveniles were arrested on April 29 and two more were apprehended on May 1.

All seven were charged with Aggravated Assault and transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center.

Online Video Showed Juveniles Violently Attack Victim

“The video depicted a violent attack from earlier in the week in which several juvenile males assaulted one victim,” according to Lewiston PD.

Assault Not Reported and Police Made Aware After Seeing Video

The assault was not reported at the time of the incident. Police were made aware of the online video.

An investigation was started with the assistance of the District Attorney’s Office and Juvenile Community Corrections Officers.
