When Bed Bath & Beyond Bangor Closes, Who Should Replace Them?
Too soon?
Actually, the odds of Bed Bath and Beyond continuing to operate, with all due respect are probably slim and none
Corporate filed for bankruptcy, meaning they can't continue to operate. The only way that Bed Bath and Beyond does not close is that someone stepped up to buy the company paying off all the debt and finding a way to operate in the black. Refer to the previous paragraph.

Let's play 'it's time to speculate'
What would you like to see replace the Bed Bath and Beyond in that great location in Bangor. It is by far the busiest retail area in the city.
Maybe there's a direct competitor who could step in and operate from that location on Stillwater Ave. But if you Google similar stores to Bed Bath and Beyond, you'll find that the considered competition is Kohl's which is in the same shopping Plaza, Home Depot, which is already nearby. Also TJ Maxx which is not too far away.
When stores close we always like to think wouldn't it be great if so and so ended up going in there.
So who should go there
Anybody think Reny's would move into Bangor?
If you're a fan of Reny's you are likely in favor.
People are always talking about wanting variety in grocery stores. Maybe this would be a good spot for the first Trader Joe's in our part of Maine
Whole Foods is another grocer that has been speculated as considering Bangor.
With a location not far away in Brewer, think Maine based Mardens would consider a location in Bangor?
How about breakfast places? People are always talking about wanting more variety when it comes to breakfast spots
Here's a random thought. Maybe The Container Store would finally expand to Maine
Who do you think should replace Bed Bath and Beyond in Bangor? Or are you hoping that something works out, like a new deep pocketed owner who saves the day and rescues the company?
Change is inevitable. Just think back a few short years.
