Red Sox Set Opening Day Roster

Today's a magical day! It's Opening Day for the Red Sox! After a long and acrimonious winter, and a shortened Spring Training, we're finally ready to PLAY BALL! After yesterday's weather postponement the Red Sox are opening the 2022 Regular Season at Yankee Stadium against the New York Yankees.

The Red Sox roster which was at 30, needed to be trimmed to 28. Boston made the following roster moves

• Infielder Travis Shaw and right-handed pitcher Hansel Robles were selected to the major league roster.
• Right-handed pitcher Tyler Danish was optioned to Triple-A Worcester.
• Right-handed pitchers Eduard Bazardo and Ralph Garza Jr. were designated for assignment.
• Left-handed pitcher Josh Taylor was placed on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 4) with a low back strain.
