UPDATE:

A Grand Falls man who had been wanted on an arrest warrant for a violent home invasion has been apprehended.

Members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP arrested 42-year-old Bernny Parent Wednesday.

A warrant for his arrest had been issued last month. Police say the charges stem from an incident last December in Saint-André during which Parent allegedly broke into a home and threatened and assaulted the occupants.

He made his initial appearance in Edmundston Provincial Court Wednesday afternoon.

The West District RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in locating a man wanted on a warrant.

A warrant of arrest was issued in Edmundston Provincial Court On October 28 for 42-year-old Bernny Parent from Grand Falls, N.B.

He is charged with breaking and entering, committing an indictable offence inside a dwelling house, uttering threats, and assault.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on December 14, 2018, in Saint-André during which a residence was broken into, and the occupants of the home were allegedly threatened and assaulted.

Bernny Parent is described as being five feet 10 inches (178 centimetres) tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds (86 kilograms). He has brown hair, brown eyes and is known to frequent the Grand Falls, Perth-Andover and Tobique First Nation areas.

Anyone who sees Parent is encouraged not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.
