One Man Arrested & One Man at Large after Home Invasion in Maine
A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday after breaking into a home and pointing a handgun at the homeowner in Poland, Maine.
Multiple Charges after Home Invasion
Justin Martin was charged with Burglary, Robbery, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Firearm by Prohibited Person, Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon, Criminal Mischief.
Suspect in Bedroom Trying to Break into a Safe
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner heard a loud bang and woke up to find Martin in the bedroom dressed in black with a ski mask and was trying to open a safe.
Second Suspect Ran Off and is at Large
Another suspect, also dressed in black with a ski mask, was on the front porch. The suspect “ran off down the street and has not been located,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Robber Pointed Gun at Homeowner
The homeowner confronted Martin in the bedroom. Martin pointed a handgun at the homeowner who was able to escape to a neighbor’s house.
Suspect Arrested and Stolen Handgun Seized
Police located Martin shortly after and took him into custody. Officers recovered a handgun wrapped in a black ski mask in the same area where he was apprehended. The handgun had been previously reported stolen, said Deputies.
