If you like taking photos and sharing what you experience, I’ve got the perfect spot for you. This incredibly striking new mural has taken over social media in a huge way, according to WABI.

It’s a moose antler wing mural and it’s appeared on a renovated building along Penobscot Ave in Millinocket.

The mural has been named the “Moose Wings,” and invites folks to stand in front of it and pose as if the antlers were popping right out of their shoulders! And yes, it’s as legendary and Maine as it sounds.

Millinocket’s Moose Wing Mural Is the Ultimate Maine Photo Op

As per the article, the building, owned by Chris Pepin a local business owner, bought the property and began to renovate and breathe fresh new life into the downtown space.

The upgrades were exciting but the mural, is a showstopper.

This artwork stands out and what makes it even more special is the way it was created. The wings are made from naturally shed moose antlers that were collected from Maine’s 16 counties by entrepreneur, Drew Maciel, as per the article.

Ella Ruiz, a brilliant local artist then arranged them and turned it into a stunning wing design.

Since it was revealed, the mural has “blown up” on social media, with people coming from everywhere taking and sharing their photos on Instagram and Facebook.

Chris Pepin said the construction of the building is almost finished and the excitement around the mural has brought so many people by, saying

“This is a really old building, hasn’t been touched for a lot of years, so seeing it go from that into its present state was amazing, and excitement has been the moose wings we did,”

So, if you are on your way to Katahdin, stop by, take a picture in Millinocket that you will remember for a long time. This is so Maine.
