Millinocket Murder Suspect Returned to Maine to Face Charges
Maine State Police say one of two men wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Millinocket man in December will be in Bangor court Tuesday afternoon.
Thirty-eight-year-old Christopher Murray was transported to the Penobscot County Jail over the weekend from North Carolina, where he was arrested on December 27. Murray will face a murder charge when he makes his first court appearance in Maine Tuesday at 3 p.m., according to Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland.
Murray is charged in connection with the death of 59-year-old Wayne Lapierre of Millinocket who was shot inside his home on December 19.
A second man–Tony Locklear, 43, formerly of East Millinocket–is still being sought in connection with the homicide. Locklear is believed to still be in North Carolina, McCausland said.
LaPierre’s wife, 33-year-old Diem Lapierre was also shot in the incident, and is recovering from her injuries.
