Abdirahman Mahmoud was found guilty by a jury in the killing of 30-year-old Raoul Mapendo Tshiyuka in March 2024.

Mahmoud shot Tshiyuka over an argument about a bar tab on St. John Street in Portland.
Victim was Shot and Seriously Injured at the Scene of the Shooting
Police responded to the scene and found Tshiyuka seriously injured with a gunshot wound.
Man with Gunshot Wound Died from his Injuries at the Hospital
He was transported to Maine Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Victim’s Death Ruled a Homicide
His death was ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Mahmoud was apprehended and taken into custody. He was charged with Murder.
