One man died Tuesday night and another man was injured after an altercation on Kennie Drive in Standish.

Deputies Located a Deceased Male after Responding to Fight

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies located a man’s body at a residence around 9:28 pm.

Second Man Seriously Injured after Altercation and Taken to the Hospital

A second man was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital for medical attention and treatment.

Body Taken to Chief Medical Examiner for Autopsy and Cause of Death

The deceased male’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Names and ages were not released.

Maine Department of Public Safety said No Threat to the Public

“There is no danger to the public at this time. The investigation remains ongoing,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Ongoing Crime Investigation Involving Multiple Agencies

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit- South was called to assist in the investigation.
