Man Arrested after Allegedly Attacking Clerk and Customer at Store in Maine
A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly attacking a customer and clerk at a store on Main Street in Westbrook.
Facing Multiple Charges
Jonathan Carey from Westbrook was arrested and charged with Assault, Terrorizing, and Disorderly Conduct.
Man Attacked Clerk and Customer Intervened
The Westbrook Police Department said the store had "asked the suspect to leave, but he returned, and when he was asked to leave again, he attacked the clerk. The customer intervened to protect the clerk, and the customer was attacked as well.”
Suspect Pinned to the Ground in Store
The customer was able to "pin" Carey to the ground until officers arrived to take him into custody.
Clerk and Customer Injured
Both the clerk and the customer were injured but were not taken to the hospital.
