A dramatic film shot in Aroostook County makes its debut this weekend. "Beneath the Harvest Sky" is the first feature film by husband-and-wife team Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly.

Originally called "Blue Potato, the film is set among the fields of Van Buren, Maine. It weaves a tale of two friends, the challenges they face in a small town and the perils of the illegal drug trade between Maine and Canada.

"Beneath the Harvest Sky"  will debut Sunday at the Toronto Film Festival. You can watch the trailer here:

The filmmakers previously won acclaim for  "The Way We Get By," a documentary about  troop greeters who've made it their mission to thank soldiers whose transports stop at the Bangor Airport  to and from their deployments overseas.
