The Maine Film Office gave Emmy Award-winning and producers of 'North Woods Law,' Engel Entertainment its blessing when they issued a media production certificate to the New York-based production company.

A pilot is in the works and is planned to be shot in the Bangor area starting Friday, August 16th, 2013. The pilot focuses on a "very unique family."

According to Governor Paul LePage, "The entire state benefits from a vibrant film industry. We have the locations, talented crews, and the businesses to supply the goods and services needed to produce a hit television series or a blockbuster movie."

The week long shoot will employ three Maine residents and cost the producers more than $170,000.

Maine Film Officer Director - Karen Carberry Warhola says "We are actively marketing Maine as a location for all forms of production."

If a film, television or commercial production company is willing to invest more than $75,000 in the State, they may qualify for the Maine Visual Media Incentive Plan.

According to Carberry Warhola, "Last year the direct spend of the productions that filmed in Maine was almost $40 for every $1 paid out in the incentive program."
