The University of Maine at Presque Isle is pleased to announce the next speaker in its 2015-2016 Distinguished Lecturer Series.

Dr. Matthew Kutz, an award-winning author, professor, Fulbright Scholar, and leadership development expert. will speak on Tuesday, March 22, at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center, will offer his presentation, Abandoning the Status Quo and Embracing Chaos and Uncertainty as a New Fundamental Life Skill. This talk is free and the public is invited to be a part of this special evening.

 Dr. Kutz’s life’s work focuses on high-level leadership, outstanding organizational performance, and cultivating a globally-minded workforce for the 21st Century; in a sentence, his goal is to help people and organizations “lead better and learn the skills that produce flexibility, change, and resilience.” His teaching, research, and leadership development interests are in reaching the highest levels of corporate performance and facilitating all facets of leadership and change initiatives.

He is the founder of the Roundtable Group, LLC, a consulting and training firm specializing in leadership development workshops, and he created www.ciprofile.com, a website designed to assess contextual intelligence.

The University’s Distinguished Lecture Series was established in 1999. Each year, the UDLS Committee sponsors four to six speakers who come from Maine and beyond, representing a range of disciplines and viewpoints. While the emphasis tends to be on featuring visiting academics, it is not exclusively so. The speakers typically spend two days at the University meeting with classes and presenting a community lecture.
