For Chris Robinson, it's been quite a journey. From trying to get himself healthy to raising funds for the families of fallen soldiers.

It's time once again to start preparing for the 2015 Wilderness Walk for Warriors event that will happen later this summer. You may remember, we had Chris in the studio talking to us about this very special and unique project last year.

Wilderness Walk for Warriors is repeating the hike this year with an expanded theme, 13 members total including a woman and a State Representative.

I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Chris about this year's hike. Here's what he had to say.

The fundraiser will incorporate a 118 mile hike through the Maine wilderness. The hike will commence on July 11th, 2015. The 13 member team will be hiking over 118 miles from Monson, Maine to Abol Bridge and on up to the Apex of Mt. Katahdin.

Check out the 2nd Annual Support/Escort Motorcycle Ride supporting the Wilderness Walk for Warriors Heroes Hike on Jule 11th. Patriots are encouraged to come out and show your colors!the Route is a 60 plus mile ride from Bangor AASF and ending at the Community Center in Monson. Cost is $5 for each rider and $5 for the BBQ put on Post 116 American Legion and Wilderness Walk for Warriors 1st volunteer group. Donations will be accepted as well.

Members of Wilderness Walk for Warriors will also have the distinct honor of carrying individually engraved stones of fallen Maine service members along the journey with them. Robinson believes this is a great honor for each member of the Wilderness Walk for Warrior team.

Wilderness Walk for Warriors have teamed up with the Summit Project to coordinate this event. The Summit Project is a living memorial that pays tribute to the fallen service members from Maine who have died since September 11, 2001. The mission of The Summit Project is to honor our state’s newest war casualties and the faithful spirit of all Mainers.

Also this year, Wilderness Walk for Warriors has expanded its theme to honor fallen members of lawn enforcement including police departments and fire departments.

Proceeds go to Maine Veterans and Veterans families throughout Maine, 100% of the funds raised go to Veterans through Wilderness Walk for Warriors.

If you would like to donate or pledge Wilderness Walk for Warriors, send them a message on their Facebook page.
